THEY accuse US of bringing up Virginia Tech (where it isn't "illegal" but is "against policy" and was foreseeable so they've paid multi-millions in taxpayer dollars in settlements, fines, and still have lawsuits pending in the Courts)
First Colin Goddard is promoting his Living for 32 movie
Now ... The John Woods documentary
(Yeah, he wasn't even on campus, but ....)

We really need to use technology more next time (I see UT anti-gun girls flirting w/ Representatives on Twitter while in session...
Guess that's called lobbying nowadays. )

Re: How do we *effectively* turn the tide on college campuse
I'm thinking just use the Tupperware box the Glock came in (concealed) with the cable run through both wheels frame and the hole in the Tupperware should be legal, even if the GLOCK sticker left on the box
Darn tempting to just lock an empty Glock box that way to make a point.
just following the law
Should raise some eyebrows on campus
Officer, would you watch my bike?

Re: How do we *effectively* turn the tide on college campuse
"campus safety" "more guns don't make "campuses safer" is THEIR argument. (Negligent discharges, errant shots, confused police etc)
My "job" is not to make "campuses safer" that's their job (campus police, fire extinguishers/call boxes/better lighting/ replacing burned out light bulbs, locks on doors) but my job personal protection.
My job is worrying who will steal my gun concealed in my bicycle saddlebags/hidden in bushes/in my car for vehicular burglars since I can't take it inside.
================================================================================
My response to their arguments "more guns is not the answer" "guns on campus is not the answer"
is
"What was the question?"
We need to get people asking the right questions first.
Just a couple eye-opening, but actually theoretically realistic examples:
You want my gun stored on my bicycle for hours while I'm inside?
Would the monthly on campus armed robberies by non-students at Alamo colleges slow down?
Would on campus vehicular burglaries slow down if criminals knew CHLs weren't forced to store guns in cars?

emotion fear? 2 can play that game ...
This was one of my more thought provoking tweets on Twitter
TEXAS @BIKERIDERS @BICYCLERIDERS Best PANNIER/ saddlebags for handgun storage while in class? (STILL Not allowed inside campus building) #txlege
Austin is big on bike lanes on city streets, bicycling around campus/town etc, no emissions etc
Should give some legislators a facepalm "What did we do?"

Re: How do we *effectively* turn the tide on college campuse
But that's what amazes me; that Texas (with its reputation) has stricter gun laws than Virginia; and we didn't even get 2178 passed so we could be as safe as Virginia campuses. I had a couple Twitter exchanges with John Woods about why his sister chose to go to a school where guns weren't illegal (though there was a school "policy" against them (she graduated last week from VT)..... very short conversation lolUnfortunately, we already have. ...Virginia Tech.
I mean if Texas has such a "loose gun law" reputation, but our laws are actually stricter ... boggles my mind.
If I was 15-30 years younger, I'd seriously think of selling my house and moving to a State where legislators used logic and facts to look for a law school and take a multi-state bar exam or something. But, I think I'll just Switch energy to the US ACOE lands for now .... and go fishing and relax a bit while contacting US Congressmen.
I think 1st, ACOE lands, next Texas Schools, then See about a Sunset bill to let the BATFE get de-funded

I note that College Police Dept sites "alerts" lists/summaries create a more realistic CURRENT picture than outdated "glossed over" Cleary reports
Especially related to vehicular burglaries .... guns stored in cars is what they want?
