That's a scary thought.steelhawk wrote:Those statements are the most ignorant things I have heard in a very long while. How does someone so stupid keep getting elected?
Is it possible that these women are the smartest people in their district, and so rightfully hold a position of prestige?

yeah, but which is smarter, the politician or the "smart bullet"VoiceofReason wrote:I am fascinated by this and can’t seem to let it go.
Do you think that someone gave her this information or do you think she just made it up? If anyone watches the informational channels on TV they should know that a “heat seeking bullet” does not exist. I don’t even remember seeing this in a movie, and Hollywood is notorious for taking liberties with physics and the properties of weapons.
Do you think she realizes how ignorant she appears to anyone that has ever served in the military and/or knows anything at all about firearms? Do you think she even cares?
Ignorance is not knowing about something. Stupid is not being aware you don’t know.
I just realized, we need a stupid smiley on here to use for politicians.
Hint: the politician "missed the mark"

I'd expect them to become familiar with the subject matter of legislation they file. They don't need to be expert on "everything" but...bkj wrote:Why do we assume that a person becomes an expert on everything just because they where elected.
For Example:
if they propose a new law outlawing owning say Labrador retrievers because of a dwindling duck population, they should have some fact to show that duck populations are affected by that breed of dog rather than base a new law on a picture they saw on the Interwebs of a dog with a duck in its mouth (which a licensed hunter legally shot.) [Fallacy of false cause]
I tweeted Al Gore today about how silly the so-called scientists must feel who did the Galveston Study claiming global warming exists because the sea is now higher on the shore than it used to be, while disregarding that pumping water and oil from underground made the land subside, not the Sea to rise.....

Dunno, I'm figuring how to get deer to wear something hot so the heat seeking part works, and wondering if the bullets that cook the deer come in hickory smoke flavor ...VoiceofReason wrote:Do you think she actually believes what she is saying?
Hopefully they'll have a Teflon non-stick coating ... Winchester should offer free oven mitts too with each ammo box ... in case the deer is still hot when putting the tag on
I wouldn't be able to sit in that room with her talking without laughing uncontrollably and saying "you sound like an idiot" loud enough that I'd be escorted out.... not planned, just a reflex to stuff like that. I mean I've seen the video, but I still can't "not laugh" when watching it.
Hey, them there clay skeet birds .... perhaps if we warmed them first and flung "hot plates" ... those heat seeking bullets would improve my scores if'n they made them big shootgun shells with that feature. Maybe they don't because that poor skeet bird would go all to pieces "after the first shot"

Re: Hollow Points, the new "cop killer" bullets?
armor-piercing and hollar-points are 2 different animals1)McCarthy's first amendment would have banned all armor-piercing ammunition or "cop-killer" bullets. Many of these bullets explode on impact and can penetrate most bullet-proof vests.
2) "These bullets have no practical purpose whatsoever," said McCarthy. "You can't even hunt with them, the animal would be ripped to pieces after one shot."
1) a magic design that could do both would be something I'd like to see, must be packed with C4 and Teflon shrapnel coated in bear grease with some super slippery Industrial Strength WD-40 embedded on a molecular level in that hollow part.
2) Not if the animals wore bullet proof vests, perhaps a tax could be collected to purchase ... but back to that original statement "ripped to pieces after one shot." Gotta wonder how many shots she takes into a dead animal ...
I don't know whether to be amused at ignorance or just annoyed. Though I'm generally against "more laws", I think they should pass a regulation that legislators should research prior to opening any oral cavity which make a nonsense noise.
Heat seeking bullets that cook the deer too ...
