Y'all stop picking on Jaybeau. He was just trying to help. Thank you, Jaybeau, for caring.

Problem is the term has become so common among CHL holders there is little possibility it can be discouraged even were Walmart to post their stores in states where that is applicable.
And, as you see from the responses here, Walmart would be alienating a lot of customers. Customers who would be ticked off enough to simply not shop there anymore and go straight to their competitors. Permanently. Perhaps those who are concerned just do not have a clue how many customers. I would be one. I simply do not patronize any business that is posted with the exception of medical facilites. I spend my money elsewhere.

Re: Please don't use the term Wally Walk

The objection may be from Super K-Mart ot Target... Wally Walk implies that WalMart may be safer since law abiding armed citizens frequent it and Super-K/Target wants the Advertising ,...

I guess I could assure Walgreens, Target, Kroger, HEB, .. and the others that I'm armed there too; then they should feel better, even if they get less advertising by word of mouth from the over 500,000 licensees in Texas along with their families and the 250 people each one knows, and the half million or so armed customers in Florida and their acquaintances and families and ... Millions of Tenn, customers and ...

Just trying to help. I'm just repeating some of the comments I heard on the con call this morning. They are not my opinions.
No problem, but as I said, it's already an understood term worldwide, changing an idiom in an entire language worldwide isn't going to happen.

It's like asking people to stop saying "McFries" or something; it brings good advertising/exposure for the company to which it refers. Whereas any decision to post signs as a defenseless victim zone can be researched as to results, both in losing money/business and lives as criminals choose to exploit criminal safe zones.

I accept that you are posting this to try to help, but it's a worldwide thing that just 1 forum wouldn't change.

Only media report of a Wally Walk I saw was
Wally Walk is set to continue enriching lives of foster kids as former recipient ‘steps’ up
http://www.manitoulin.ca/2012/04/18/wal ... -steps-up/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
“Wally is still going to be part of the walk,” Ms. Kimewon said.
But seriously, The world won't be changing ...Wally Walk as a term for a concealed law abiding licensed carrier is at least nationwide and not just here, it won't be stopping soon, and Tenn/Fla and other States stores would look silly with 30.06 signs, especially where "the people" have a right to carry constitutionally, license or not. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.p ... id=4907659" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and WalMart won't be posting signs other than the "blue" sign required by TABC.. Target Trot anyone? Albertsons Ambulation? Walgreens Waddle? Bank Boogie? Home Depot Hop? Lowes Lolligag? JC Pennys Passage? Sears Shuffle?

======================================================================================================

Hey ... WalMart has less vehicular burglaries than "traditionally safe" College Campuses that have their own Police Dept .... guess why?

Re: Please don't use the term Wally Walk

Wonder what that major retailer would do in say, Virginia where carrying is a constitutional right and 30.06 signs do not exist :biggrinjester:

I fell for an April Fools thing on Twitter earlier.

Re: Please don't use the term Wally Walk

Stores with blue (under 51%) alcohol signs like Grocery stores, convenience stores, WalMart aren't likely to 30.06

ummm It's April 1st today, if you haven't checked the calendar yet

I"m sensing a new New licensee/forum member w/ a sense of humor "rlol" "rlol" "rlol"

BTW, A buddy of mine invented Wally Walking back before WalMart was around, in Houston it was a way of walking, sort of half-duck-like; invented it at a dance, his name was Wally ... has nothing to do with guns, Wally Walked funny ... (true story)
