The Wall,
Very funny! Before I decided to move my money to the TDEFCU, I had discussions with their management to ensure that they would not post the 30.06 and was assured that would not happen. Just sharing what I have learned with others in southeast Texas dealing with the same problems.

Re: Credit Unions and 30.06/30.07
Folks,
No, I can't get a copy of the policy, just what I am told by the board of directors. They are free to do what they want and so am I. I had a number of discussions with the board member to explain why I though their policy was a mistake (both safety for members and employees as well as the inconsistency with other financial institutions).
If I never had to go indoors, I would not care but I do have to go in on occasion.

Credit Unions and 30.06/30.07
Thought I would update on my saga with the posting of 30.06/30.07 signs. I have been a member of the Shell Federal Credit Union for several decades. They posted both the 30.06 and 30.07 after the first of the year. I have been in discussions with a member of the board of directors (concerning the signs going up) for months. I was told that both signs went up because of insurance requirements. I got the final statement from the board last week and the signs are staying up. So, I started checking other credit unions and found that the Texas Dow Federal Credit Union (an even larger credit union) prohibits open carry but allows concealed county in all their branches (confirmed with their management). I have started the process to move my account to the Texas Dow Federal Credit Union and will close out my account at the Shell Federal Credit Union. I have to wonder about insurance requirements that prohibit concealed carry at one major credit union and not another. It would be easy to think that there is more than insurance requirements involved. There are options and a way to send a signal to those that way to restrict our legal rights.
