Fixed it for ya.

Remember, there have been almost three generations grow up since the 50's, when Constitutional Rights were taken as gospel. Over that time, the paternalism (and behavioral control) of government has become an everyday experience, while individual responsibility has been truly forgotten by most. Those of us who can enjoy the freedom and fulfillment from taking care of ourselves (and are willing), must remember to feel truly blessed. :tiphat:

Now you understand! Isn't it an amazing feeling when the political fog lifts? :tiphat:

Re: This is way to far TSA

<rant>
It's a reflection of the level of fear among the population in this country, that TSA is allowed to act in an increasingly oppressive, unchecked fashion, without opposition. Unfortunately, that also means that this sickening corruption of power will only get worse; what will be the new travesty in 2012? Not a first in history; this is truly identical to how things developed in the 30's, and not just in Germany. It looks as if this treatment is in the U.S. to stay, and my fear is now for this country. I don't believe it's any "conspiracy," but rather a totally unchecked well-meaning meritocracy (put the "merit" in quotes for me, please).

This is also not really new in this country, of course. Just in the past 50 years, except for the recent personal nature of the TSA offenses, the EPA and DOT are proof of how bureaucratic oppression can continue just because the population "knows it's for their own good." This comparison is not a stretch; for these groups, they really see no difference between checking for lead paint and checking for scissors, using any type of invasive procedures they feel are required.

I still believe treating me as a criminal will not keep me any safer, whether in the airport or at the auto safety inspection, but that's just me, I guess. Granted, TSA personnel keep telling me "it keeps the bad guys away." Some of my friends in a similar service simply chuckle when they hear that....

Sorry if I went over the top on this one. :tiphat:
I'll go back into my rabbit hole.
