I normally recycle and reuse myself...but my wife on the other hand...not so much. But I love her anyway.gigag04 wrote:I think this is par for the course for those of us that wheel and deal through online forums/craigslist/flea bay etc. I have a pile myself.austinrealtor wrote:I'm a cheapskate. Re: Pay It Forward.
Based on what my wife told me the other day i see less and less of a reason to go to the USPS location. She was mailing our nephew's birthday gift and went to the post office. Line out to the door. Was going to buy a box from the little display and then realized she didn't have any tape and didn't want to spend $4+ on a little role. So she decided to go over to a pack and mail type place. No one in line, the lady measured the presents, found the box for my wife and wrapped it all up. It was sent USPS...grand total was cheaper than the post office with the postage and the box she was going to buy there.austinrealtor wrote:By the way, if anyone here gets popped for illegal carry at a USPS for dropping off one of these care packages we will all "pay it forward" to bail our fellow forum member out of the pokey, right?
Not sure if it is posted 30.06 since my wife is not licensed, but I would bet not. So maybe we should all support our local businesses, rather than wait for the Government Bureaucracy that is the USPS.
Oh, and the reason for the long line...it appeared to my wife that all 3 postal employees were issuing Passports to individuals at the counter...when did they start doing that? When I got mine I was escorted to a room in the back that they have setup for it, and they only do them during certain times...

Re: Pay It Forward.
Just wanted to say thanks to Cosmo 9 for the excellent holster.
Paying forward the Desantis NYPAD tonight.
May have a Pierce Grip Extension for XD9/XD40 mags. can't decide if I like the way it feels when the gun is concealed. I will let y'all know.

Re: Pay It Forward.
Yeah. I am good. Thanks for asking. I have been busy and stressed at work. And my wife just got past the first tri- mester so the last couple of months have been rough for her and I have been doing all I can to help her. To round out the stress we found out about 3 weeks ago that my dad has ALS, so your thoughts and prayers for him would be appreciated. But things have gotten a little less stressful so hopefully I will be able to be around a little more and if anyone is shooting in the Arlington area it might be a good time for me to get out the remaining stress.
Sorry to unload on the Pay It Forward thread. So, back to why we are all here. The holster is nice and I debated if I was willing to part with it, but since it won't work for my IDPA needs I am going to get something that will work better and make the wife happy by not having it sitting around.

Re: Pay It Forward.
Ok. finally had time to get back over here.
I have a DeSantis NYPAD Paddle Holster - RH for an XD9SC. It is basically brand new. Bought it for IDPA, but I don't think it is going to work.
Here is the holster: http://www.lapolicegear.com/desantis-ny ... lster.html

Re: Pay It Forward.
Sorry for disappearing everyone. I have been extremely busy at work, and taking care of a pregnant wife when I get home. I promise to look through what I have at home this weekend and offer something up. Hopefully I am not a pariah around here now...
