Re: Unlicensed carry
Where is it legal to carry a concealed handgun without a CHL (assuming it's legal to own and possess a handgun). I know that your vehicle as well your personally owned property, but what constitutes property you are in control of? ... I'm not a lawyer. My understanding is property you are in contro...

Re: Concealed carry in a state agency
State employees at the capitol have an employee ID badge that gets them through. I go to the capitol every day but don't go in any of the main "public" entrances. Never get screened. It's been 28 years since I went to new employee orientation. Don't think the gun issue was ever brought up....

Re: So I'm at the worksource building
Is this an employment agency? ...Government or private? ...Associated with the Texas Workforce Commission? This is like any other non-valid sign, CHLers don't pay attention to it unless they state it properly or ask you to leave if they discover you have a gun. The Texas Workforce Commission privat...

Re: Rugers "Coyote Special"
I wasn't interested in a LCP either until I heard about the special edition. I called several stores until I found one that still had them in stock. I bought it as a collector's item, not to shoot. With any luck I will get the governor to sign the box. Then, I hope to live long enough for it to trul...

Re: Information contained on Texas Driver's License?
Looking at the links provided by gemini, the answers are:
The information on the strip is the same information that is on the face of the license.
And card readers can access it and are available to the public for around $350.

Re: I'm Proud of my Mom !
I'm proud of your mom too. I'm a 50 year old woman. My brother-in-law got me interested in guns. My first gun was a S&W 642. It takes some effort to pull the trigger. I also thought I would never get a semi-automatic because I couldn't rack the slide either. In getting ready to take the CHL clas...

Let's keep the under 30 days roll alive. I've been checking the status of my license every day. Thought I would give it a break since it's a holiday. After reading the last few posts, decided to check the status even though I checked it last night..... Application Completed - license issued or certi...

Re: December 2009 Applications
I'm in the "waiting room" too. I'm trying not to get obsessive about checking the status of my application. I planned not to check it again until early February until I saw greybeard's post that one of his students got hers at around a month. So now I'll be checking every day starting in m...
