Congrats! :hurry:

I was happy when my CHL instructor said we'd probably get ours the first week of Feb. To get them in just about a month is awesome!

Re: December 2009 Applications

Got my license in the mail today.

Time out for a quick woo-hoo <Woo-Hoo!>

I couldn't go anywhere today, 'cause Arkansas was playing East Carolina in the Liberty Bowl (Ark won - 20-17 in OT - another Woo-Hoo!).

Can't go tomorrow, 'cause I have a Cowboys game at 3:15pm, which means leaving the house around noon to get there. And I am smart enough to not attempt to carry into Jerry World. :thumbs2:

Maybe next week I can offically break out the CHL and go somewhere. But for now, it's enough to have it in hand (or, actually, in my wallet!).

Re: December 2009 Applications

My guess is that they update their website overnight for the previous day's activity. A few of us have noticed that checking early in the morning showed the application to be completed even after checking the previous night. If my guess is correct, checking multiple times during the day won't show a change of status.

It's not bad luck to get a holster before you get your plastic. I got two to be ready before it gets here ... a Crossbreed Supertuck and a Safepacker. So I'm ready to go whenever the plastic arrives.

Re: December 2009 Applications

I had hoped that the plastic would arrive today, although it's just a little soon. I was hoping to have it before the post office shutdown over New Year's. Ah, well .. patience is a virtue (so I've been told). It'll be here in the new year .. maybe Saturday?

Re: December 2009 Applications

While the DPS website is better than nothing, it would be kinda nice if they could list what's going on with it - such as waiting for background check from xxxx county, or whatever. As it is now, once the status reaches processing application, it'll be stuck there for a long time with no change until suddenly you find the application is completed. :rules:

Re: December 2009 Applications

Holy Moly!

I checked my status at DPS yesterday before I left work for the day (5:30pm) and my status was Processing Application. I checked this morning and the status is now Application Completed - license issued or certificate active.

I would never have thought it would have been this quickly. Guess I get to join the 30 day club after all!

Yippee!

Re: December 2009 Applications

It looks like I won't be joining the 30 day club. Didn't think I would, 'cause I've lived in two counties in the past 8 years (Dallas/Kaufmann) and that appears to be a key - one county, and a large county at that.

Still, though, I really didn't expect to get it so quick - although I had hopes. I suspect it'll probably be closer to what they told me in CHL class - 60 days. That would put the plastic in my hand the first week of February. That's not bad compared to what it has been recently.

Congrats to all the 30 day winners!

Re: December 2009 Applications

Looks like I'm also in the Dec group that's waiting (im)patiently. I'm not bouncing off the walls or anything during the wait 'cause I've got enough to do right now to keep me busy. That's an advantage to this time of the year, I think. After Jan 1, tho, cabin fever will start to settle in. That's when it'll get really rough.
