seems that NOTHING the LVPD does is appropriate (or legal)philip964 wrote:Apparently just about anyone who has a magnetic Erik Scott ribbon on the back of their car is stopped by the police and ticketed for something.
If true, that would not seem appropriate.

unbelievable! There is something terribly wrong with the people who voted him back in.HighHandicap wrote:Sadly, Sheriff Gillespie won re-election (65% vs 35%). Apparently the people of Clark County are perfectly happy with the high rate of officer involved shootings.

That may be the only way to stay alive if LVPD are involved.WildBill wrote:A good editorial piece by Vin Suprynowicz: Lie face-down and let yourself be cuffed?baldeagle wrote:A fascinating take on the second amendment as it relates to Erik's case. Re: CHL holder killed by police in Las Vegas at a Costco
I think the shareholders of Costco stock are going to be losing some of their dividends - sorry for them - but hope enough people stop shopping there to really make a dent in their profits. I know I will never spend my money in one, and telling everyone I know to boycott Costco. Prices aren't that much cheaper anyway.

Re: CHL holder killed by police in Las Vegas at a Costco
Is it a surprise to anyone that it was ruled "justified" in that kangaroo court. I had no doubt that would be the out come of this farce. Now comes the good part where Erik Scotts Dad, family and friends band together and sue the pants off LVPD. There may be an uprising in LasVegas.

CHL holder killed by police in Las Vegas at a Costco
Guess the LVPD didn't care who got shot, knowing they would never get into any kind of serious trouble. They get no-billed every time, it seems, no matter what the circumstances.

Re: CHL holder killed by police in Las Vegas at a Costco
The way this is going LVPD will come out of it unscathed. I hope Las Vegas loses a whole lot of their tourism business and that people think of another place to go to gamble or take a vacation. If people stop going to Vegas maybe hitting them in the pocket book will wake them up to the fact that people don't like what goes down in that town with their police force. New motto Just "What stays in Vegas means; stay away from Vegas."

Re: CHL holder killed by police in Las Vegas at a Costco
This inquest proceedure looks like a big farce to set the stage for LVPD not going to have any liability for what happened. Did we expect it to be conducted in a fair and unbiased manner? Strange how things stopped working right before a shooting occured. I am not buying that for one minute. If things go haywire with security cameras they are fixed promptly otherwise, why have them. What a whitewash job this is. Total coverup IMO.

Its now Las Vegas's big turn to show us they know how to investigate a shooting, and present the facts in a complete, honest and straight forward manner.
I would like to think that all of what you wrote will happen, but the cynic in me just can't see it ever happening.
What I think will happen is that there will be insufficent evidence to call it anything but a righteous shoot. They are not about to throw 3 murd....whoops officers under the bus and place themselves in the media spotlight. LV is almost as corrupt as Chicago so I don't expect anything but plaudits for the shooters and a villifying of Mr Scott.

drjoker what town are you planning on doing your protesting? I would if I could but traveling isn't something I can do. If it were local to the Galveston area I would be there. You are oh so correct about the squeaky wheel getting the oil.

A fellow CHL holder should have known better! Unbelievable![/quote]Hoi Polloi wrote:Around 6 minutes into the first tape, I heard the dispatcher say that the [Costco] Manager was a Green Beret and had permission to carry a 413 [firearm]. I can see telling the dispatcher about the manager carrying a gun, but why the bit about being a Green Beret?WildBill wrote:You have to take the time to listen to the whole thing.
I am thinking the costco store mgr. was saying that Erick Scott was the one that was the Green Beret and carrying a weapon. That could have amped up the EB scale a little bit to get the cops there faster. A person being a green beret and brandishing a weapon is terrorising the store.
