You are supposed to report all arrests for which you were fingerprinted and photographed, regardless of whether they were juvenile, expunged, or any other outcome.

Thirty years ago, the arrest record was a piece of cardboard in a file cabinet. If someone took it out and dumped it in the trash, that was really the end of the story. That is exactly what happened when I got my arrest record expunged.

Everything is computerized now, and records are automatically backed up and added to central databases. You can't be confident that anything that was entered into a computer is eradicated.

The letter from the court saying that they have no record of your arrest should be sufficient. I was in nearly the same position with a decades-ago arrest. I specifically got my document from the clerk of the court in the county where I was arrested.
