I used to have a diesel pusher and spent a lot of time on the RV forums - but that was before I saw the light re: self defense.
I do remember that even a few years ago that roadside stop areas were popular hunting grounds for bad guys. I remember one guy recommending a cheap pump shotgun that made plenty of noise when you pumped it. He used to transport motorhomes solo. He was once awakened by a car that pulled alongside his MH one night and heard 4 doors close and somebody say "Lets do it!". He cycled the shotgun from near the door and the next thing he heard was 4 doors slamming and a rapid departure.
