After I shot it, a very experienced shooter friend informed me that Monarch was corrosive. This didn't cause concern for me in this situation as I was cleaning my gun immediately after my shooting session anyway, but it is something to keep in mind for the future. I'll probably go with WWB or S&...

I sure don't blame you for being shook up. I carry a .45 and have considered putting a rifle behind the seat of my truck. Just a glance at the wrong end of an AR, M-14, or '27 Thompson should get a bad guy's undivided attention. Of course, I'm on my Harley more often which negates that idea! How ab...

I have a Romanian WASR-10, the cheapest of the bunch. I got mine at a show a few months ago for $325, "new". It's not the most elegant piece, but it blows through cheapo Wolf like there's no tomorrow, and actually hits where I aim. There are a bunch of 'em out there, mostly or all imported...

My take: Missing an "A" or a comma, or having .9 inch letters is close enough. Your average LEO would expect you to comply.

A gunbusters sign or "No firearms" doesn't cut it. I'll still carry wherever that is displayed.

Kahr - PM9 over the 40, personally. The 40 is a little "snappy" with typical defense loads. I don't own the PM9 or 40, but have shot a few. I THINK you have a better chance of getting one that goes BANG moreso than the KelTec P11. I was attracted by the low price and high capacity of the K...

I'm with txinvestigator, but read for yourself: (a) A person commits an offense if he intentionally refuses to give his name, residence address, or date of birth to a peace officer who has lawfully arrested the person and requested the information. (b) A person commits an offense if he intentionally...

This sorta goes along with a saying that I like: "Worrying is like paying on a debt that you don't even know if you owe."

Congrats!

How do we get the rest of 'em to move to New York? Good riddance. She might be a *GULP* registered voter.

I was taught the same thing in my police academy in 1994. Never have really tested it, though.

Running water and Johnson & Johnson "no more tears" baby shampoo. If you get it in your hair, you'll get a second dose when you take a shower. As stated, don't let it run down below your waistline.

I'd take the brass cased (or even steel cased) Monarch from Academy at roughly the same price as Blazers. The steel cased 9mm is about 1$/box cheaper than the brass cased. It is actually pretty good ammo.

I'm with Mike on the HydraShoks, and the Corbon DPX. I'd try maybe 3 of the top recommended that you can find locally (so you can replenish your supply easily), and see which ones feed the best and are the most accurate. If they all are reliable, just take your pick. I have some Corbon DPX in my 450...

I feel terrible for all of the victims involved. My prayers are with you and your loved ones.

That said, I guess I'll buy a few more hi cap mags. It's going to be a hard hit for us law-abiding gun owners.

SB 534 / HB 992 article

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headline/metro/4717185.html AUSTIN — For thousands of Texans, the right to own and carry a gun is no less an essential ingredient of life than the right to own a house, a business or other piece of property. The Second Amendment and private property rights may e...
