I had both for my Glocks, and have settled on wearing the Comp-Tac full time for all of the reasons above. I have personally set mine to ride lower so the belt clips do not go below the leather and do not irritate me at all. I also always wear an undershirt, but I do not think you would need to with this holster. 100% of the gun is protected by the leather. I would also like to add a couple of pro's:Teamless wrote:I have had a Crossbreed for about 3 months, and have just recently received my first Comp-Tac Minataur.
Pro for Comp-Tac - the hardware is covered by leather on the back, so no bare metal of the fasteners that hold the Kydex or Clips on touch the skin.
- the Crossbreed does not have that, but the metal fasteners are not a real issue, just a comment that I think Comp-Tac saw a possible issue and covered it
Pro for Comp-Tac - once you have the leather part of the holster, if you get a new gun, you can order just the Kydex for a smaller cost that the full holster and interchange the Kydex
- with Crossbreed, a new weapon = a full new holster at $80 (if you want Horsehide)
Pro for Comp-Tac - 2 weeks from order to delivery
- Crossbreed was 4 weeks
Pro for Crossbreed - the leather portion covers the belt clips completely.
- Comp-Tac - the belt clips rub my side as the leather does not cover it. It is very irritating.
- once I got used to wearing a holster, I did not need an undershirt with my Crossbreed, but do with the Comp-Tac
As I said, i have only had the Comp-Tac for a short time, so others may have more comments to share
Pro to Comp-Tac
- The belt clips are thinner and no not have a large design on the front of each. When wearing concealed, the thinner clips blend more, especially when you are wearing brown and put on brown clips, or black with black.
- The Comp-Tac has a larger variety of clips to suit various concealment needs.
- There are local Comp-Tac dealers that you can visit to put hands on the holster and also buy different belt clips without needing to pay shipping.
