FYI, for those still waiting, or for those Feb. submissions who may be viewing this thread, my CHL was listed as "Application complete - license issued" on Feb 5. however when I received the CHL on Feb 9, the envelope was postmarked Feb 8. My belief is that when the license has been printed and put in the envelope, it may sit at DPS for a day or two, or the weekend, depending on when it is issued. Patience is a virtue!
Nairb - what did DPS say when you contacted them re: receiving the completely wrong license?!

Re: Jan 2010 applications
I haven't received mine either and I am in Austin. I imagine it was put in a big bag to go out to the post office and wasn't picked up until Friday or Today.jmdevera wrote:Done.joe817 wrote:Tonight would be a good time to email them and let them know you haven't received it yet. Be sure to include your full name & address, TX D.L & Soc.Sec.#. Then do a follow up call tomorrow.jmdevera wrote:still not here and was complete on 2/2/10. i live 20 minutes outside of houston in league city. at what point should i be concerned that it was lost in transit? what would be the procedure?
You should have it by now. It took mine 2 days to get to me after mine changed to "app.complete. Lic. active or issued", and I live in Arlington.
Man I sure hope that its just really slow getting here. I don't really want to wait for this issue to get resolved and have to be put into another batch to sit and wait for a new license...

Re: Jan 2010 applications
sounds like a few of us got in on the Jan 19th rush!CWOOD wrote:ADD THIS TO THE SPREADSHEET
My middle daughter, rwood (not currently a poster here), and I hand delivered her paperwork to DPS on 1-19-10 and as of 2-5-10 status changed to 'Certificate Complete-License Issued'. That is quick.
She now says that I am her "favorite" Dad ever.
And her "faovrite" CHL instructor ever.
Gosh, it is nice to have good...and intelligent, kids.

17 days!!!
You know "Someone" don't you?
haha... I literally do not know anyone. Actually just moved to TX in Nov. I've lived and gone to school in a total of 2 counties (incl. here in TX), clean record, made sure everything was legible and filled out properly leaving no employment or residence dates unlisted. I gave the application to the DPS office in person where the clerk assured everything was filled out properly.
Unfortunately I don't have my plastic in hand yet, but I expect it on Monday, since it has been discussed here that once the site says "approved," it means the card is in the mail. I was hoping for today since I live in Austin but I guess that was a little optimistic!
eta: rpecunia - nice spreadsheet!!

Re: Jan 2010 applications
DPS likely received your packet this week. Expect for the check to show up as cashed on Fri/Sat or early next week and you should receive your PIN about a week after that.MojoTexas wrote:The suspense is killing me...I'm still waiting for my check to be cashed. Wait...did I include the check? Did I include all of the forms? Did I fill everything out okay? What if they can't read my finger prints? I'm going nuts just worrying that something is wrong and that it's going to delay the process even longer.
(Yes, I checked, double-checked, triple-checked, and quadrupled checked everything against the checklist before mailing it...I'm just a worrier...)
eta: The days will go by very slowly once you get your PIN (as others have resonated). I got mine last week but it feels like it's been 2!
