Congrats!!!!and today, having just received my plastic via first class mail, i join you and the thousands of others here, and around this great country of ours, that have embraced the constitutional right and social obligation to carry a firearm...
PS it'll be so much more comforting now to not have to leave the dang thing in the car anymore !!!

Re: Jan 2010 applications
Congrats!!! After all your hard working keeping up with the rest of us January applicants your deserve some good news!after a quick email exchange before lunch today with DPS, learned that "the license has been printed. you should receive it with 1-2 weeks." which i am very relieved and excited to hear - although my status still says processing just for the record, marked myself as "complete" in my own stats - now for the mailbox stakeout !!!

It is my understanding that once it says that, it is in the mail and up to the good ole USPS from there...So how is the wait after it shows "active"?

Re: Jan 2010 applications
Just occurred to me...
I haven't even had a chance to even chamber a round in my new LCP that I plan on carrying. I know its a dangerous thing in Texas to wish that the rain would end, but I need to get some rounds through my new gun before I am comfortable carrying it!!!!
I don't have proper holster to CC my P89, so that's not an option. Hope the weather clears up before my plastic arrives!!!

Re: Jan 2010 applications
Like you, got tired of waiting for my snail mail PIN and sent a short email asking if the PIN had been mailed yet (in other words, I don’t have it) – got a quick email reply same day with my PIN – the email to use is chl@txdps.state.tx.us and be sure to include FULL NAME, TX DL, DOB with your query so they can release it as per the website...
and the website to check the status is https://www.texasonline.state.tx.us/NAS ... AppManager" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
thanks, ron[/quote]
Thanks for the info, they had my PIN in less than an hour!! Processing App...

Re: Jan 2010 applications
OK... starting to get a little antsy. Most people who mailed their packets when I did have already received their PIN. Guess if I don't get something in the mail in the next few days I'll have to break down and give them a call.
