Are you sure the pin is not too large? I fit a Wilson safety in my Les Baer stinger, and i had to make the pin smaller with very fine sandpaper.
Also, make sure you smooth the back side of the safety down really good, or you can scratch your 1911's frame.

Brushing up against things- you can hit the right side paddle, thus disengaging it.Mike1951 wrote:I fail to see how. I really don't understand why the book even includes churches like it does. Seems like churches should be like any other non-restricted place- concealed weapon is fine, unless a 30.6 sign is present. What the heck?!

Collector's Firearms. Some gripe about high prices, but they're flexible if you ask nicely. Incredible selection!

Haven't heard much good about them, if ever. Spend alittle more and get a 1911 that actually works.

Not really. DPS has sped up the process big time. Mine took 27 days door to door last month. Have you tried any 1991s? Reliable and very concealable. Oh, and a .45,bizarrenormality wrote:If you're about to take the class, don't be in a rush to buy a carry gun. You have lots of time.

Re: 1911 Cost
I love 1911s. My main carry is a S&W 1911sc. It's Commander sized (4.25"). It carries great IWB, and draws easily. I got a Colt New Agent (3") a few weeks ago, but I'm not carrying it until I get the rig in. One issue with carrying a full size is whether or not you can draw it easily. ...

I live right near S Shepherd and Richmond ave, and gladly make the trip to S Houston to shoot at Marksman. I, too, took my CHL class with Jim Hoge- great guy and great teacher. Back to the range- the guys behind the counter are really friendly and the range rates are fair. I'm sure I'll be there som...

Since getting my PIN and being able to check the status on-line...a question has occured to me. Has anyone heard if the fine folks at DPS track the number of times that an applicant checks on their status? And if they do check, how many times in any given period would be a 'red flag' as exce...
