It's true that a lot of people are oblivious, but just because nobody says anything and nobody reacts to what is happening doesn't mean they don't notice.cmartinez95 wrote:I was outed yesterday while shopping at a department store with my wife and kids. My 5 yr old was walking with my wife when out of nowhere, as 5 yr olds often do, she decides to run back to me (I was a few feet behind them with my son) to give me a big ole hug. She inadvertently hit her hear on my right side, where I have my EMP .40 in a IWB crossbreed holster. I saw what she did and proceeded to ask her if she was ok when she starts saying (rather loudly) "Daddy, I hit my head on your gun!". I told her, without making a big deal, to be quiet, but she kept on and on and on until I finally kneeled down and gave her a big old bear hug so I could tell her in her ear that she needed to stop repeating what she was saying. When she finally got it I explained to her that her mommy, her and I were the only ones that needed to know that I had a gun on me. After that she ran back to her mom and not another word was said. I never thought my own daughter would be the one, LOL. Gotta love kids sometimes.
By the way, I don't think anyone around us really noticed what was happening. Amazing how oblivious most people are when they are out and about.
I remember a story a while back(although I don't remember where I read it) of a woman being attacked on a bus and no one said or did anything. Did they just not notice? Of course not, they just didn't want to get involved, so they pretended not to notice.
I know that a woman being attacked and a daughter talking about her dad's gun are two different things, but if people can pretend to not notice the former, they can certainly pretend to not notice the latter.
But then again, it certainly is possible that everyone in the general area was oblivious.
