Having lived through 13 Presidents, and voted in many Presidential elections, there's one "absolute" I've learned.
Liberals don't budge
Conservatives don't budge
Democrats "may" budge
Republicans" may" budge
Independents always budge.
Elections are not decided by ideological or party bases. They are decided by Independents. Without the Independent vote, you can't win. Whoever appeals the most in this election, or any election, to the Independents will win, plain and simple.

I am always amazed at today's generation who has so selflessly completed voluntarily tour after tour in Afghanistan and/or Iraq.
