Re: LEO Stamped Hi-Cap Magazines

Same goes for guns with "Law Enforcement use only" on them, they're just a funny marking on your gun/mag.

I enjoy the fact that my LE6920 says:
Restricted
Military / Government
Law Enforcement / Export
Use Only

Re: Question on 30.06 (and 30.07)

3A only applies to a card or written document. If it's posted somewhere, it's a sign and has to follow 3B.

Re: can you carry a NFA firearm with a CHL in TX?

So you can carry the NFA weapon anywhere? Even in posted buildings and off limited zones like school or court? No. Texas law doesn't distinguish between NFA and NFA-firearms. If it's a handgun, you need a CHL to carry it regardless of whether it's an NFA firearm, and the usual CHL rules apply. Like...

Re: First 3d printer working pistol

The cost of a 3D printer is dropping all the time. There are also other ways to gain access to a printer that cost far less. For example, at the Dallas Makerspace we have a 3D printer available for members to use, which membership costing only $50/mo.

Re: TSRA site compromised

I work at a datacenter, we see this sort of thing all the time. What has happened is that an attacker has somehow gained access to the server or the ability to upload/modify files. Typical vectors of attack: Outdated or unpatched software (CMS software, blogs, forums, etc) Insecure passwords Custom ...

Re: Generic "No firearms" signage and symbols at public park

My assumption is that they are prohibiting the open or concealed carry of rifles and shotguns. Obviously, the notice does not apply to those with a CHL and carrying a concealed handgun (state preemption, public land, not a 30.06 sign, etc).

Re: Brady Campaign VS Rick Perry

Here are my thoughts on this (I'm bored at work): When asked if he carries a concealed weapon while he campaigns, Perry refused to answer outright. Instead, he thought it was a joking matter, replying, “That’s why it’s called concealed.” I don't think this one even needs to be refuted. His belief th...

Re: Update; grapevine mills mall "30.06"

Last time I was at that mall I noticed at one the entrances the 30.06 wording, WRITTEN IN STONE. However, since it wasn't filled in it was technically all one color and not contrasting.

Just to be safe we left and went to a nicer mall.

Re: CHL but not armed

I agree that's it's a good idea to show both IDs. Before I got my CHL I was stopped by a police officer while walking around my apartment complex and he came back to me after running my ID and asked if I was carrying. Their system was showing my CHL was active before the DPS website even said it was...

Re: blue sign question

I'm not a lawyer, but my understanding is that your hotel room is legally the same as your home/apartment. So you would be fine even without a CHL since the hotel can't legally prohibit you from possessing firearms in your temporary domicile.

Re: Louisiana bill requiring gun serial number to purchase a

What if someone bought an 80% complete AR lower, finished it and then gave it the s/n 00000001? The lower receiver is the firearm and with the right upper (and magazine insert) could fire just about any round. Or better yet. What if someone wanted to buy ammo as a present? I hope this bill gets defe...

Bought by me for her. I said nothing about registration. But you implied it with "that is in my name ". The way it reads to some is that you think it is in fact registered in your name. That's no different than buying jewelry for your wife. Very different, I dont fill out govt forms to bu...
