I find the observation interesting in that I traverse Kempner to Killeen 4~6 times a day... many times on a sport bike, and I dont have the same observation as you. perhaps 1 in 10~15 times down that path do i see such a display... And most of those time I do not perceive them as unsafe. Exceeding the posted speed limit is a citable offence no doubt. Going 80 in a 75 does not automatically = wreckless. Going 95 in a 75 does not automatically = wreckless. At times I have observed riding at 10 under the posted limit as reckless behavior.

I see car drivers texting while driving the posted speed limit many times operating a vehicle more recklessly than I would perceive a motorcycle rider going over the posted speed limit being reckless.

As noted,,, that speed is a physically impossibility for the bike in question..... stating the exaggerated speed really weakens the case in my opinion

The fast bikes in the US are ECU limited yes, though that is easily dealt with and common for those that modify. There are MANY factory models that will do 185/195 limited and more if the electron lock is removed.

Unfortunately, many an avarage rider and less than avarage have ridden thier bikes to the ECU limitation...as for not doing it for long..yes, normally when that speed run is arrested (pun intended) with blunt force trauma

Id guess the "Exceeding 200 MPH" was based on the officer doing a indicated XXX and then estimating the speed of the rider as he pulled away.

That's actually part of my concern ...if the DA is of the opinion one can not carry a concealed weapon on a motorcycle under MPA...thats a problem and will need to be addressed.
This case however I can see (as have others) many ways the charge of illegally carrying a concealed weapon may have been charged having nothing to do with MPA issues.

I will be interested if they charge him for mere possession without a LTC...as that would imply the DA does not believe motorcycle riders have the ability to carry a weapon in thier "vehicle" without a license. I suppose once he was off the bike and running.....that could be the basis of the charge, and if he had remained on the bike, no charge like that would have been made???
