they come in 9mm and .40 and I think .45.
They have the trigger "safety", like the Glock, but they also have a backstrap safety. This means you need to press the backstrap safety as well as the trigger safety in order to fire.
I have held the Glock 26 and the Springfield XD9sc and the XD9sc just felt a smidge better in my hand, and the additional safety gave me that extra boost of confidence for safety.
