Re: "Waiting Room"

Today, I decided to call again, they told me they have now done away with the "PIN" numbers. Then the nice women on the phone asked me for my info and looked up my info and told me to expect it at the end of the month and it was in progress. So who knows... :smilelol5:

Re: "Waiting Room"

I spoke to the DPS this morning, the web site was updated last night, and not all the code was loaded. The field where you type in you "Pin" is not there, and the IT department is update things. Check back in a day or two. -Mark

Re: "Waiting Room"

What a surprise today, a surprise at great customer service from the DPS. I was having trouble loggin in, so I just called the 800#, and nice voice at the other end of the phone picked up on the first ring, asked how he could help and looked up my status.

My license has cleared all the checks, and has been sent off to the printer, he said it should not be long now. :thewave

Re: "Waiting Room"

On today's news:

Concealed handgun permit backlog eliminated

by The Associated Press

Posted on April 7, 2010 at 3:59 PM

AUSTIN -- Texas has nearly wiped out a backlog of concealed handgun permit applications.

Department of Public Safety officials said Wednesday only 34 applications are considered late -- down from about 8,300 in August. The background check is now fully automated, and DPS hired temporary workers to help catch up.

New applications are supposed to be processed within 60 days, and renewals with 45 days. Both are currently running about 20 days, said Brad Rable, deputy director of DPS.

Rable says DPS has about 9,600 applications pending. DPS officials had blamed the delays in part on a surge in applications last year. Some cases took as long as four months.

Re: "Waiting Room"

Good Morning Ya'll,

I hand delivered my application to the DPS this morning (April 5th), The women working the front desk took the time to look over my papers, found mistake, and let me correct it on the spot. She said processing was talking about 60 days, due to some of the man power was also being use to help process the census.
