Heck, the Ace Hardware (big store) in the small community I live in does not require anything. You tell them you are a veteran and bam, 10% off. But they were always a good neighbor to the community.

Went to the DPS office with a cc of my dd-214 yesterday. Other than the wait it was pretty much a snap. They accepted a cc of the dd-214 (not certified) and they provided me with a temporary DL for use until my new DL arrives.
I must have been asleep sometime in the past because my new DL expires on the same date as my CHL. So I checked my wife's DL and CHL and they expire on the same date.

Word "Veteran" on TXDL
If anyone has done this, did you do it my mail or did you have to go to a drivers license office? I thought you could do it by mail, but all I can find is you have to go a DL office. It appears only out of state can do it by mail.
