Re: October Application
I'm finally going to leave this waiting room. Just received a call from DPS today that my application has been completed and they will mail it first thing Monday morning. Now for the wait for the mailman.
Things finally got rolling when I contacted my state representative and state senator. This call happened about two weeks after doing so.

Re: October Application
Do you have a passport? A photocopy of the identification page is sufficient. Photocopies of passports are allowed per the DPS website. I'd check that, or give them a call and verify lest you have it returned to you again.jiannichan wrote:So, more than likely, it is either my photo's or fingerprint. Those 2 are easy for me to obtain again. I am sure I sent them everything they need to get the application completed. I had my name changed when I became a US citizen in 2002, but I also sent them the court document that stated my name was changed. It could also be that it needs to be notarized, since I only sent them a copy of it. So when they sent you the letter, they also sent you back your photo's that were rejected?
EDIT: I received the letter from TxDPS today. It is because I stated my POB was a country outside of the US (Cambodia). They are requesting document that proves I am a legal resident of the United States. I will probably go into the office tomorrow and make a copy of my US citizen certificate. Do any of you think I will need to get the copies notarized or anything or just sending the copy as-is sufficient?

Re: October Application
This happened to me last week. I got a letter in the mail stating that the passport photo I submitted as too "grainy." Upon inspection of the photo, it looked like the top edge of the photo had the top layers of paper missing, as if someone unceremoniously ripped the tape off of my submitted photo and then told me that I'm at fault for it. It reeked to me of yet another excuse for delay.jiannichan wrote:Sucks for me. I just checked my status and it says "Application incomplete - missing information - detailed letter has been sent." Booo..... I hope after I resolve whatever it is, everything goes through.

Re: October Application
Nils, what's worse is that I sent in a Form 1 to make an SBR to the ATF at just about the same time. Talk about counting the minutes.

Re: October Application
Hello, fellow Octoberites. I took the course on October 12th and sent in my completed application on October 20th. I just realized it's only been just over one week. Feels like an eternity...
