Renewal CHL Checklist

I'm about to send this in, but I'm unclear on the checklist needed for the renewal. I only see a checklist for an initial application. I have the following: Fingerprints on the white card with blue outlines Two passport photos in the little holders The "Photo Holder", with my signature at ...

Killeen Poll

Basically asks whether you agree or disagree with the bill that would allow CHL's to carry on campuses. http://www.kdhnews.com Copy and paste the link in a new window, please, so it isn't obviously linked from a pro CHL site. Scroll down a little, you'll see the poll. Currently at 60 yes, 50 no. I t...

I have to wonder if this will affect Texas CHL holders who can currently use our CHL's as a substitute for the NICS background check when buying a gun. I ask because I have a common name, and have always been delayed by NICS before getting my Texas CHL. This has cost me a few good deals on used guns...

If what I've heard is true, the Taco Cabana signs aren't legally binding, since they don't meet the size requirements.

I ate at a Taco Cabana once. The food didn't impress me enough to return for a second try.

I figured they'd probably arrest you for it if they caught you. Quite an inconvenience, and it's easier to simply avoid those places completely.

It is interesting that they can do this without the state doing something about it.

Tyler: Can't carry in parks and rec centers?

This was posted by someone on another forum. I thought it would be interesting here. Does Texas allow cities to preempt state law? (Is "preempt" the correct term?) http://www.kltv.com/global/story.asp?s=6294562 Concealed Handgun Rules Relaxed At City Buildings Concealed handgun owners in T...

I've seen two correct 30.06 signs since I've had my Texas CHL. One at the hospital where my father-in-law was treated, and another at a liquor store. Incredibly, the liquor store took the 30.06 sign down and left the obsolete sign that states something like, "The licensed or unlicensed possessi...

I reload for my .45's, and it's a lot cheaper than buying commercial ammo. I'm gathering brass for my AR's so I can load my own 5.56 ammo as well. I picked up some Hornady brass from a fellow TCHL member, and am firing the Monarch to collect more. I already load my own .30-06 for the Garand and 7.62...

Rattlesnake Races in Old San Patricio Posted 51%

Me and the family just got back from the Rattlesnake Races, and the entrance was posted 51%. I have a very difficult time believing that 51% or more of their revenue is derived from the sale and on-premises consumption of alcoholic beverages. Just thought I'd let y'all know what I saw. I didn't feel...

And again, as noted above, even if you don't take a dollar from the feds, they still practice extortion with refusing to recognize your school's accreditation.

So much for the free country that our Founders intended.

It's to the point where I wouldn't be a bit upset if Texas were to secede.

A treaty does not trump individual constitutional rights. If the Supreme Court issues an opinion that the Second Amendment is an individual right, then the UN treaty threat is gone. Without such a ruling, we have a very real risk, which is why the NRA fought so hard against the recent two UN attemp...

30 cosponsors now.

Sheila Jackson-Lee is one of them (Houston).

Her name is also all over the gun bills being introduced in the 110th Congress. http://gunowners.org/110anatb.htm

Houstonians should be ashamed of themselves for continuing to elect this woman.
