I'm new here. I am active duty Army stationed at Ft. Bliss. I have been stationed here for a couple of years. I am married, and we are both originally from Alabama. I got my AL CHL on my 21st birthday and maintained it for a few years before letting it lapse. The process in AL is much different from TX; in AL you give the sheriff's office $20 and pick up you permit 3 days later...but I actually enjoyed the all day TX class.

I recently attended the TX CHL class and will finish submitting my application this week. After reading all the materials I got at the class I am a little confused about how to fill out the application without a TX DL or ID card and I have posed that question in the general CHL forum. My usual carry gun is a keltec p3at, I was lucky and got one of the reliable ones...I like it for it's size and the ability to pocket carry in an appropriate pocket holster. I have also carried a P229, and stick my beretta 96 in the glove box for those long weekend trips. Thanks.
