I choose the pat down. Just because it's very easy to embarrass them and they don't do it as thorough as they should. Just my experience. Your gonna have to do it if you fly so it's get patted like a crimminal or get blasted with radiation.

No they are going to charge you. When I flew my TSA approved case is small enough that it will fit in my checked bag. Only one bag no 25 dollar fee.
