Re: I want to know where this guy got trained

Again, I'm not defending this guy at all! I think he's a bit too intense and he's going to hurt himself soon.

Yeah, I don't get that part either! In his other video he's attempting to demonstrate the lethality of an edged weapon within a certain distance. The 21 foot rule has been the standard for years. However, it has come under scrutiny by some. Questions have been raised as to whether or not you could draw from any holster, concealed or not, and deliver an effective "stopping" round before a KNOWN knife wielding assailant can deliver a lethal wound within a 21 foot distance.

I do find the humor in this, but I think there is a more serious side that's being overlooked. Some still believe that you don't bring a knife to a gun fight.......this attitude will get you killed! Edged weapons are a serious lethal threat! Ask yourself how you will handle this threat if ever your faced with it!

Re: I want to know where this guy got trained

While I highly agree that this guy is a bit scary, almost everything he performed was from Gabe Suarez's "Advanced Close-Range Gunfighting" DVD. Suarez even mentions the "Pekiti" maneuver to get off the X.
The gun "jams" are intentional. He's loaded the mag with alternating snap caps in order to simulate a malfunction. Notice he jumps out of the expected line of fire when he cycles the slide. The "empty" gun strikes and the sword play are not taught by Suarez in the DVD. Also, Suarez teaches these techniques from a concealed draw each time.
I do not know this guy! I've just seen the Suarez DVD and I recognize the techniques.
