Re: Can Beto O’Rourke really beat Ted Cruz?
I think one should have skin in the game. They must have a full time job, not a student of any stripe, and they must have an abode that is in their name, as well as all of the services associated with living in said abode, this can be as part of a marriage or some similarity. Not living with their parents, but on their own and making their own way. Soldiers in barracks, sailors on ship, those living in bunkhouses and etc can be determined to be living in their own abode. I just want folks to have skin in the game, where they are actually living their lives with some sort of fear and trepidation that things could go south in an instant. Then they can vote. At least if they vote communist I can believe that maybe, they at least thought about it and didn't just follow their professor's thoughts/feelings or they didn't just vote for their own stomachs to insure they continue to get a free loaf of bread every day.

I don't know Beto might win. I just found out my Grandfather voted Democrat, something he would never have done while he was alive.

To you perhaps a "non-issue" and "silly crap", but to me and others that believe as I do, these issues are important. My first and most important stand is on Gun Rights and the expanding of the same. Next are those issues that I find to be repugnant and against my beliefs. The only reason I chose gun rights first, is because that so far, most of those who are for gun rights also believe as I do.

This Vote. I have a Daughter-in-Law that is a hardcore Democrat and my Son, God Bless him, is a Libertarian. They often say that their votes do not count and so why vote? I always tell them to vote, don't care for who, but Vote! Many Americans have given their all to afford you that privilege, don't squander that right like it is nothing. My wife, who is Korean and raised within a Dictatorship, even if it was a Dictatorship she supported, tells them the difference between being afforded a true right, versus a right to vote for who your told to vote for. VOTE! Hopefully everyone will vote Republican, but if not at least you voted and have some skin in the game.Flightmare wrote: ↑Wed Sep 26, 2018 1:06 amWhile I won't go so far as to say that staying home is voting for democrats; I will encourage everyone to vote. My position is that if you do not vote, you're letting everyone else decide how your government is run for you. I have assumed personal responsibility for my own safety, as many on this forum have. I say we should also assume responsibility for our own government. Some may decide to stay home in this election for various reasons. Some may think that the results will just go the way they want. Just like not carrying your firearm, I hope you guess right. The consequences of guessing wrong when you could have made a difference are something you will have to live with. So please, if you're not already registered to vote...go do so. It's not too late.

I and several of my friends, carried when Ted Cruz was in Temple, there wasn't any Secret Service around that I identified, also no-one was checking or prohibiting firearms. Donald Trump Junior, although Dad is President, doesn't receive Secret Service protection that I know of. Maybe he does? But, Trump Jr is an adult, just happens to have a dad that became President. Had several Temple P.D. folks standing with Ted, even had an individual protesting Ted inside the Restaurant, we just boo'ed her off the stage as it were.RogueUSMC wrote: ↑Thu Sep 20, 2018 10:30 amThey do not have a 'legal duty' to prohibit...PriestTheRunner wrote: ↑Wed Sep 19, 2018 4:06 pmSS has a legal duty to prohibit, though I don't know if that extends to all of their protect-ees or just the POTUS. Might want to call ahead to local PD or just leave it in the car.rotor wrote: ↑Wed Sep 19, 2018 3:46 pm Slightly off topic but Ted Cruz will be in Wichita Falls on Oct. 3, 2018 and apparently Donald Trump Jr will be with him and I plan on going. It will be in a city owned property and I am wondering if concealed carry will be allowed. Secret service might prohibit?
