Re: what do you love about texas?

Let's see. I was born in Washington, D.C., lived in Arlington, VA and Silver Spring, MD, moved to Newton Centre, MA, moved back to Bethesda, MD, left for college in Decorah, IA, spent a summer in Brooklyn Park, MN, joined the Navy and lived in San Diego, CA, San Francisco, CA during training, stationed in Buxton, NC and Argentia, Newfoundland. Got out and moved to Ayden, NC. Moved to Wilmington, NC, then to New Carlisle, OH, then Tipp City, OH, then Bellbrook, OH, then Rome City, IN. Then I finally came "home" to Texas. Been here ever since.

What I love about Texas; cool breezes in August, longhorn cattle, history in abundance, driving 80 and being passed on long stretches of open highway, bed and breakfasts, ethnic communities where Germans, Irish, Swedes, Chzechs and others settled, mountains, lakes, canyons, desert, piney woods, oil wells, Tex Mex, positive energy, friendly people, tons of variety, Mercedes Benz parked at Sam's, pickups parked at Ruth's Chris Steak House, museums, art galleries, sculpture, the arts, lower Greenville, football, winding country roads with beautiful scenery, cowboy boots and hats with suits, forts, indians, dinosaurs, space rocks and on and on and on and on.

There's no other place like it.
