This is not at all unusual. Many celebrities who are adamantly and vocally anti-gun have no problem hiring armed guards to protect them. They don't see it as hypocritical at all. They think they're special and deserve rights others can't have. Rosie O'Donnell is just one famous case. The reason celebrities and politicians get along so well is because both see themselves as a special, privileged class different from the average citizen.
