I can't fathom why you guys are abusing yourselves like this. Campus carry is dead. D-E-A-D. Give it up. Go have a beer. Shoot some targets. Stop beating your heads against the wall.

It's an ethics bill. They have to water it down as much as they can.nobius wrote:Geez 14 amendments for SB 19.

Re: SB11 Campus Carry House Floor Debate 5/26/15
I have refrained from commenting on this, because I didn't want to sound negative. However, I have not believed, from the very beginning, that campus carry would pass the legislature. As long as Strauss is the Speaker, campus carry is and will always be dead. That's reality. The question is, what will Texans do about it? I suspect nothing. Frankly, I have just about given up on this country. The politicians could care less what the people want, yet the people keep re-electing them. It's time to face reality. Nothing is going to change.Charles L. Cotton wrote:Campus-carry is dead.
SB11 passed the Senate on March 19th and was in the House the next day. Speaker Joe Straus didn't refer it to committee until 46 days later (5/9/15). A rules vote has just killed campus-carry because of the intentional delay getting this early-passed bill to the House Floor on the very last day it could pass. This is Joe Straus' fault. Undoubtedly, others were involved, but the control and responsibility falls on Straus' shoulders.
