Yes, triangular barrel. It supposedly creates more surface area to reduce heat issues, but I bought it because it was a short barrel .308 at the right price. it shoots as well as any other barrel I've shot from Remington. I had owned an SPS Tactical before, longer barrel, it shoots as well as that did. My VTR has a 20" bbl with a 2" integral brake. I only have a few hundred rounds through it, all good ammo. Mostly Black Hills 175gr match. The Annoyed Man wrote:Is the VTR the one with that triangular section barrel? Currently it is sitting in a Bell & Carlson A5 Tactical Medalist stock with a Timney trigger, LaRue base, and Seekins 30mm rings. Also has a Harris Bi-pod.
I could be convinced to part with it for the right price. Otherwise I could return it to stock configuration and sell - I have the green and black stock still around I do believe. I was planning on getting it all re-done in a different caliber anyhow, may as well start with a fresh rifle instead.
Here is the stock it is in, black with gray web color: https://www.stockysstocks.com/bell-carl ... -2097.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The gray is far more subdued than how it looks online.
