Did NOT work continued,
Back in 1997, right after I got my CHL, I bought a Uncle Mikes "Pro Pack Undercover" holster, for my Browning High Power 9mm. It came with a nice set of instructions, I did NOT read them. I put the straps and buckles on the holster, put it on, and slid my trusty high power in and went out wearing a denim jacket to cover it all.
While I was out wearing my new holster, I felt the holster was "moving". Being new to the Concealed carry thing at the time, I just thought I needed to "break in" my new holster. I was at wal-mart (stop laughing) when I needed something on the top shelf. So I just stepped forward, stepped onto the lower shelf and reached my left arm straight
UP towards the top shelf. At this exact moment my high power went straight
DOWN, along with the holster and those pesky straps!!
I jumped down and grabbed the "escaping pistol" with both hands. I tucked it all back under my denim jacket and made a bee line for the front door and back out to my car. Remember those buckles? Turns out I did not put them on right the first time. Looking back on that day, I probably looked like a shoplifter making a quick get away that day!! I ordered a Uncle Mikes "Vertical Holster" the very same day. I can asure you I
READ those instructions front to back, back to front, and "tested" every holster since then for "proper weapon retention".
