Call DPS and notify them. I think it would still be a valid license, but I would have your friend ask DPS about that when he calls.
The issue time should be pretty quick as they only need to fix it in their computer and reprint the license.

Re: Notary Process
Those who live in rural areas may still need to be a notary as the majority of people may not have internet access.
I personally haven't notarized an affidavit since the state made it part of the online process.

Re: CHL requirements
Good post, but I wasn't sure if you meant to call it a privilege or was that satire?.shootthesheet wrote: Or do they just want to hang on to the feeling they are better than others because they can afford to buy this privilege?

Re: CHL requirements
im just saying there are too many people who have a chl who dont deserve one ... I'm guessing these people would disagree. Re: CHL requirements
I understand where the OP is coming from, but I have to disagree with him. I already feel that having to take a class and pay for a license is an infringement on the Second Amendment. In retrospect, when I lived in Georgia all I had to do was fill out paperwork and submit to a background check; no t...

Re: reporting stolen card?
Just got through on their local number: 512-424-7293. I had been calling this number for days too and was receiving the same ring once and then busy.

Re: reporting stolen card?
You can do it online.
https://www.texasonline.state.tx.us/txapp/txdps/chl/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I've been calling that number for days and it rings once then goes to a busy signal.

Re: Completing application without DL Audit number
Best solution we found was to submit the paper application as it does not ask for the DL Audit number.
This will add a few days to the processing time, but DPS didn't have a better solution.

Completing application without DL Audit number
Looking for suggestions…. I have a student who completed my CHL class and is unable to start the online application because he only has a temporary paper drivers license. Long story short, he recently moved here from another state and just got his drivers license last week. Apparently the temporary ...

Re: Ok I am flustrated. who should I call
I've read a couple times now that one must wait 30 days before they can re-issue a license that never arrived. I spoke with DPS today and I was told that after 30 days the applicant will have to pay for a duplicate…$25? The lady told me that if the license doesn't arrive in 14 days, to make sure you...

Re: A change happening in March?
According to DPS, ink rolled fingerprints will not be accepted if the application or materials are not postmarked by February 28th. Justin - can you point me to where you got that info? I have been looking for some confirmation on the DPS website that they are still going forward with the March 1 d...

According to DPS, ink rolled fingerprints will not be accepted if the application or materials are not postmarked by February 28th. That being said, maybe you can send in the materials you have now and send the other documents when you receive them. I would call DPS and ask them what they want you t...

Re: Electronic Fingerprinting…effective March 1st
I wonder what DPS has to gain from this being that L-1 is not the only e-fingerprinting business :grumble I had mine done a place in Garland next door to Handgun Academy. As it was explained to me, L-1 Identity Solutions was the only company that was able to meet the state's requirements for data s...

Re: first renewal
I got the letter, did the renewal process online and paid the fee. I've signed up for a class in March. I'm wondering though, if the state will send out a new handbook. I know there have been at least a couple of changes since 2006. The books are no longer mailed out. The books are now available fo...
