The irony of this is amusing.
How? I am not offended. Apathy runs deep within me.
You aren't offended, I am amused, Dr. Joker is OK, all others have had their say... it seems like a good conclusion.

Drinks on me!

:iagree: and if your wife and lawyer are in cahoots, get a new layer to handle the divorce.
[soapbox]I don't find this funny. Even if this were an issue of addiction or abuse, advocating separation, protection, and counseling would be the appropriate measures for strangers on internet forums. If obtaining a divorce is then determined to be in the family's best interest following that point, it can be pursued with the support of those in their lives who know all of the details and are able to help them coordinate for their needs.

It is disgusting to jokingly encourage a guy to get a divorce because his wife told him to listen to his attorney and not carry in a post office, opining that it is her opinion that guns are more trouble than they're worth when he has to retain an attorney in order to go to the fair or the post office. And I sure hope it was a joke! I understand some of the history that's been posted about their relationship here from the perspective of one of them over their disagreement on firearms and how many would not handle disagreements in their marriages the way either of them have done so, but nothing here rises to the level of strangers joking about getting a divorce over it.

Can you imagine him printing out this thread and showing his wife tonight? This is a real person being discussed, potentially without her knowledge. A woman who is unable to defend herself, whose husband is hanging her out to dry--in this instance for absolutely nothing wrong--and to have this being said about her here... and not only is it approved, but more jump in and attack her, going so far as to call for completely getting rid of this woman through divorce. It turns my stomach.

You are men. You are called to greatness and you should remind yourselves and each other of that frequently. Call him up to greatness and support him in acting with charity, compassion, gentleness, grace, maturity, and nobility when dealing with those he disagrees with, with women and children, and especially with his wife who should have the very best of him.[/soapbox]
