While TV and the Movies take huge liberties. I watch them to be entertained. I hate reality TV, but I'll watch Shoot 'em up and Die hard all night long because they are fun. I know a guy who did did some technical adviser work for Walker, Texas Ranger but only advised on matters pertaining to electrical wiring and apparatus. There were things the director wanted to do that could not really happen with poles, wires and transformers but the director would often overrule the TA. He told me that they had ex-LEO's as TA's for the gunfight scenes but they got overruled a lot also for "dramatic effect" or "camera positioning".
Are people really that naive?
