I recently had a bit of debate with my son after he returned from combat-shooting training, and I observed him using the "slide stop" of his M1911 as a "slide release." While I am not close to being a gunsmith, at recruit training many, many years ago, I had been taught, very forcefully by the drill sergeant, that doing this repetitively would guarantee that someday you would go automatic and become a hazard on the line.radioflyer wrote:True. My P30 and HK45 both do this. When we do reload drills in my tactical class, it almost makes it unfair....especialy to the 1911 guys who have trouble hitting the slide release.Carry-a-Kimber wrote:After doing some research, it appears that the HK's are designed to so this.
