Re: Best Burgers in Your Area
I haven't eaten a truly great burger around here in years. There used to be a couple of local Sugar Land burger joints, but that was before the mall was put in, and we became a haven for franchised mediocrity. I agree. Never understood the big deal with In-N-Out. Five guys is good, but not great. Fo...

Re: CHL and DL Don't Match
The address on the CHL has "Ave", but the DL does not. Also, the CHL has my full middle name, but the DL has only the middle initial. Will this cause me any problems? Thanks. That's nothing. In 1990, Baby Shasta's birth certificate lists Shasta Cougar, Jr. as the father because the record...

Re: Over Half will get a Diagnosable mental disorder
I personally think that 50% is low. They have now removed the 'bereavement clause' from diagnosis of depression. It used to be that a person who is grieving the recent death of a close family member was not considered clinically depressed unless they exhibited severe symptoms. Now, a person could wa...
Re: Bacon
Was at the Imperial Farmers Market this morning in Sugar Land. First time in a long time.
There's a vendor there "jolly Roger Gourmet Jams who had a Chocolate Banana BACON Jam. It was, well, interesting. I'm a huge Bacon fan, and it wasn't bad, but the texture was a bit odd.

Re: Reason you decided to get CHL ?
Understood & Agreed.
It does indicate the increasing audacity of the criminal element, more often adding serious bodily injury to their other crimes. This applies to other crimes as well, jumping people in parking lots to carjack, rather than hotwiring the car, etc.

Re: Reason you decided to get CHL ?
Several reasons actually #1 The number of kick-in type burglaries seem to be on the rise. #2 A life-changing ankle injury made me less able to maneuver, even though I consider myself very aware of my surroundings #3 To show my support for the 2nd Amendment (although a license shouldn't be required I...

Re: First Contact
So, I was admitting defeat (more-or-less) and headed to the courthouse this morning, only to find out that they're closed all day on Friday. As I was filling out the plea form, I noticed that the date is wrong on the ticket. I hope that I'm not screwing up, but I'm just filling out the response as n...

To fight or not to fight? I want to start by saying that I seriously mean no disrespect to any LEO. I do not approve of enforcement of traffic laws for generating revenue, rather than for public safety. I have had a TDL for over 35 years without a speeding ticket. I don't mean I've gotten out of the...

Re: Love Field 30.06 notice...
What DOOR is this? the perspective appears to be to the right of my usual entrance, although it's hard to tell with the construction barriers up. I fly in and out of Love at least four times a month and I've never noticed this sign. I was actually there today, for the always-late flight 43. I usuall...

If you were referring to my post, I was referring to Texas Southern.Scott in Houston wrote:When I hear "TSU" I don't think Texas State. (aka Southwest Texas)
Do Texas State grads routinely call it TSU?
I will always consider the place in San Marcos "Southwest Texas" as it was when I was IN college.

Re: sig p238
I love mine. It took me a good bit of shooting to become accurate with it, and I'm still a better shot with Mr. Shasta's Kimber. However, it is easily concealable in a multitude of places, and I am able to carry IWB or using a Flashbang holster or using a holster sewn in my bag if on body isn't work...

Re: Where Did You Graduate?
In the interest of not making myself too identifiable, I graduated from a small Catholic high school in Houston. Did a 2 year stint at Texas A&M, until their request for a pharmacy school was denied (yes, I am aware that there is a pharmacy school in Kingsville now, but at the time there was onl...
