Wild West Brewery FtW - signs?

I'm meeting at this place in Fort Worth with my kids, their spouses and a grandchild tonight. The name (Brewery) makes me suspect it is a 51% establishment, but they have a full menu and lots of family/kids activities. Does anyone know if it is posted, and with what signage? Is there a place to chec...

Re: Texas State Fair Carry Rules

Paxton shot his case in the foot with his 2016 opinion that found private entities could ban guns on government-leased property as long as the government “has no control over the decision to post such notice.” The biggest difference in the Fair and other orgs like the FTW Zoo is the use of metal de...

How many guns in the US? updated stats

Looks like about 10% of American adults have CHL/LTC. I think most of use are clearly above average. Report Highlights: - According to the most recent estimates, the United States has between 400 million and 500 million civilian-owned firearms. - There are 1.93 firearms for every adult in the U.S. a...

Re: Texas State Fair Carry Rules

The way the law is currently written makes this application very hard to circumvent. If not for the metal detectors a licensee can disregard those signs, as I'm sure many of us do already. By using metal detectors we can be turned away, and our only recourse is legal action. We should not have to be...

Re: Texas State Fair Carry Rules

This reporter has responded with a letter from the OAG regarding the Fort Worth Zoo where we had the same issue. It states the OAG has determined the Zoo can post legal 30.06 signs because they operate the zoo and the city has no part in that. The situation seems identical to the State Fair case. Wh...

Re: Texas State Fair Carry Rules

I am in an email discussion with the KERA reporter who wrote their story on this. Can anyone help me find the stature that prohibits firearms bans on govt/publicly owned property, regardless of what organization is using it at the time?

Perot Museum status? (Re: Frustration at 30.06 signage)

Headed to the Perot Museum in Dallas today. Can anyone verify whether it is posted 30.06 or not? EDIT: Checked the website, says 30.06 is posted. Also says any found carrying will be asked to remove the weapon from the facility. My visit this time makes that difficult (family, children, long way to ...

ATF to eliminate private sales, shut down private classifieds

Congress needs to step up and curb this infringement. "President Joe Biden plans to announce that he is directing the ATF to close what Everytown calls the “private sales loophole” and the “digital loophole.” The “private sales loophole” is when an individual sells a firearm for profit but does...

For anyone who has not read "Atlas shrugged", do yourself a favor and read it now.
Also highly recommend her other masterwork "The Fountainhead"

Both are very timely even today

Re: ATF Released New Proposed Pistol Brace Rules

What do we do? The previous post recommended a book which some consider instructive. Fiction, of course. Highly recommend it. Personally, if I owned an AR pistol with a diminutive shoulder stock/pistol brace, I would remove it, making the pistol continue to be legal. That pistol brace would work fin...
