Re: Dick's to stop selling assault style rifles.
So if Dick's swings to the left now I'll just keep my cell phone in my right pocket. No big deal.

Re: Tonight's debate
It looks pretty likely that Hillary will be our next president - like it or not - so I'm focusing on the down-ballot races to make sure there is a legislative balance to keep things from going totally haywire.

Re: Powder Valley Praise
Yeah I just got 32lbs of VihtaVuori's finest delivered. It's hard powder to find in normal times, let alone during "the panic of '13",
They have been doing their best, and if you check in a couple times a day you'll eventually find what you need - it just goes real fast!

Re: Question on AKs
The absolute best folding AK solution in my opinion is a AKM100 series side folding triangle stock. the plastic side folder is great too. Feels good locked up and locks to the left side of receiver away from trigger and bolt, mag, etc. [ Image ] That is one nice-looking AK. +10 for the bakelite mag...

Re: 9mm Remington Brass Available at MidSouth
I just bought 1000 Starline 45ACP from Midway. All they had was the nickel plated, though.

Re: PSC (Pearland Shooting Center). Anyone here a member?
Apropos of nothing, I saw a bobcat at PSC two weeks ago. It was sitting directly underneath the 300yd target on range 1. At other times there have been hawks perched on the 50 yard target frame while targets on that frame were being shot at. It's interesting to note how accustomed they are to guns, ...

Ok, for what it's worth I received a reply email from a Director at PSC who said that you CAN use the Desert Eagle in normal pistol bays.

Question about PSC
Do any of you know the policy regarding shooting 50 AE ammo at PSC? In their rules they mention "no 50 caliber military style ammo like the 50 BMG". They also say that the S&W 500 must use a rifle range. 50AE has approximately 50-55% of the energy of S&W 500, so I was wondering if ...

Re: Reloading shopping list
When I got started I watched a lot of videos. I still play them from time to time while decapping or trimming.
Most of them were found here: http://ultimatereloader.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Wholesalers are low on re-loading supplies
I won't feel so self-conscious about taking my brass-catcher-net-thingy with me to the outdoor range next time. This past weekend I lost about a third of my 223 brass to overzealous scroungers...er...fellow members while I was shooting. I think a sense of 'brass famine' has set in among some folks.

Re: Wholesalers are low on re-loading supplies
Yep, I had the same experience. I ended up buying some (overpriced) CCI Benchrest small rifle primers because that was all my supplier had left in small rifle. Now they're out of those too.

Maybe we should start a new "Waiting Room" just for PSC memberships.SQLGeek wrote:I have been on the list since August, so hopefully it'll be not too much longer. :)

Re: Question on AKs
Regarding the heat factor, Arsenal makes several handguards with built in heat shields. You can also usually buy just the heat shield itself from Arsenal vendors such as K-Var. That's what I did; I bought some old East German bakelite handguards for my AK. They looked great, but got hot as heck real...
