Shotgun is fine. I've used my shotgun there numerous times (#8 shot AND 00 buckshot).

They've ordered some full-auto weapons for rental so I assume they will allow personal full-auto weapons, but I would check with them first. (Actually a friend shot a full-auto M4 there during the "grand opening" party a couple weekends ago, but it was owned by a range employee.)

Lastly, according to Bill James, the range was built to handle .50 BMG, but they don't allow it at this time due to the dB level of that round. Supppressed BMG anyone? :???:

Thanks, Charles. I've been surfing through the different topics and I'm amazed by the wealth of good information. You've got a good thing here (and it's proof that the Internet is not a wasteland).

I'm just saying that like any introductory deal you have to do some calculations to see if it works for you. For instance, after the first year's admittedly big $1000 fee, the elite level is $250 per year. Given that you get a 10% discount on everything in the store, free CHL training, free range weapon rentals, and free FFL services, you could easily break even or even net some savings. Does that work for everybody? No. But I think it was a pretty well-thought-out price level on their part. With a big venture like this store opening, I'm sure a little infusion of liquidity was welcome.

Sorry if I came off a little obnoxious. I'm a transplant to Texas from New York. That's just how we are sometimes! ;)

Re: The Arms Room is open!

I have to laugh at one of the other threads complaining about membership costs at the Arms Room. I think a lot of those people need to "do the math" - there are clearly cost incentives to join. Either that or they don't shoot enough for it to be worth their time. In that case, what do they care how much it costs?

Just my $.02
