Re: Link to Today's TX Senate Hearing On SB11 and SB 17 (2-1
I have been listening on and off all day, and I will have to say I am surprised at the sheer number of folks that have showed up to speak "On" SB11 and SB17 and encourage an amendment to make it constitutional carry. I can't see how this could even happen, but I will say that there all lots of people speaking that think it should.

Fun/Lying with statistics! He says 57 officers were killed last year when their own guns were turned on them. No mention of how many of these guns were actually stripped from their holster and then used on them.timtheteacher wrote:16 hours extra training and a higher retention holster for licensed open carry brought up by Houston Police..... What do you think?

Re: Link to Today's TX Senate Hearing On SB11 and SB 17 (2-1
The level of ignorance about SB17 by some of the Senators asking questions is unreal.
One Senator just proposed that we should close the gun show loophole to keep people from obtaining CHLs and open carrying.

Here we go guys:
http://tlcsenate.granicus.com/MediaPlay ... ent_id=938" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Lets hope the vocal folks from OCTC, OCT, etc. can keep it respectful. I contacted CJ through twitter and Kory through Facebook and reminded them both that our even our Nation's independence was not one in one battle.
I also contacted my Senator (who is a co author on the bill) and thanked her.
Today is going to be a very, very long day for all involved in this hearing.
