Interesting.....

I just read over here that some forum members are receiving plastic even though their web status still reports "Manufacturing Pending". The linked comment got theirs 8 days after that status change.

I usually consider the lottery a tax on people who are bad at math, but I'm going to make an exception this time and get one. I need some cash to pick up something a little more concealable than my Glock 17 anyway!

Hopefully this is a trend for the DPS. Did you guys do the electronic application and fingerprints?

OK, not that I'm complaining here....but I think my application is processing too fast. *cringes and ducks*

I just checked the site and wasn't expecting to see much since it's only been 9 days since FedEx delivered the package, but instead I see:

I'm just wondering if this is even possible or if I've got some problem with my application? That first yellow triangle thingy (a technical term) is making me nervous.

I submitted my online app around the 29th of July. I mailed my paper work on the 9th of August. Since then I've been going to the "Texas Online" CHL site where "New Users" can "Apply" and "Returning Users" can "Login". I enter my TXDL#, SSN, and DOB and click the Login button as a Returning User. I get the message "You are not eligible for any services at this time. This may be due to an application in progress. If you think this is an error, please contact customer service." Am I accessing the right site? Am I in the right place? Am I getting the same response that others are getting before they start processing my packet? I'd hate to be doing all this waiting and checking based on the wrong site or something.

When I log in as a returning user (the green "login" button, not the green "apply" button), I get the following message:
License Status: Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page.

I submitted an electronic application, so this might not accurately reflect what you should see if you sent in a paper one.

Well, I've overcome my reluctance and taken the plunge. I'm not sure how I'm going to conceal in my daily life, but it just seems like the right thing to do, and I'm sure I'll get (and eventually contribute) some great information through this forum.

Hasn't even been a full day of waiting yet, so I'll hold off on the complaining until a suitably respectful amount of time has passed!
