Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL
Saying that Zimmerman is (automatically) at fault for "being there" is akin to blaming the rape or mugging victim for walking down the street -- it's wrong -- when the criminal attacks. That's a terrible comparison. You're saying that a CHL holder has no special responsibilities? Ideally,...

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL
So the AP story said this: "The investigator who called for Zimmerman's arrest, Christopher Serino, told prosecutors that the fight could have been avoided if Zimmerman had remained in his vehicle and awaited the arrival of law enforcement. He said Zimmerman, after leaving his vehicle, could ha...

Re: ALERT .30-06 victim disarmed zone: Houston Hilton
I went to the Hilton in Austin last week through the main, west-facing entrance. This is what I saw on my way out.
IMO, this is just ridiculous. The writing is not only grey on glass, but they park their luggage carts in front of the signs.

Lamar Smith has an Oath Keeper running against him in the primaries, and and he's been getting some attention. http://sheriffmackforcongress.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I'm absolutely furious at the ignorance, arrogance, and Federalism that Smith displayed. Why in t...

BOEHNER Halting Fast and Furious Investigation?
Blog rumor at this point, but if it's true and Holder gets off, still think we can trust establishment Republicans?

Re: Gun buyback's aim goes beyond disarming criminals
you guys know that was done right? If I recall, the intent was that working guns were donated to families who couldn't afford to buy their own. Does anyone know if they actually donated the guns? I emailed them asking if they did, how many, and if they had profiles on their site, and they never res...

Re: John Cornyn set to grill Holder on Capitol Hill over all
Eric Holder just went full retard. Step 1: Be personally responsible for running guns illegally. Step 2: Call for tighter gun control. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/11/08/after-fast-and-furious-holder-to-blame-congress-for-not-supporting-atf/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return ...

Buffalo Wild Wings
Not sure where in Texas this is, but a member of another forum I visit took a picture of this at his local BWW: http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6013/6209662260_2852b58129_z.jpg A member of another forum sent them a comment through their website and got this back: "Buffalo Wild Wings respects the...

Re: Obama DOJ to eliminate the BATFE?
This is definitely a case of the devil you know is better than the devil you don't. I'd much rather deal with an underfunded, incompetent ATF than something like Department of Homeland Security, Firearms Enforcement.

Well, one liberal gets it
This is an ultra liberal running for the 15th Congressional Seat in Florida. He writes about the Wall Street protests in NYC. This article is partisan, inflammatory and at many times, outright rude, but in the first half, he makes an interesting observation: "We all rolled our eyes in exasperat...

Re: That lousy attitude...no decency
Krugman used to be a decent economist. These days, he's just another partisan hack; another one who's part of the problem and not the solution. There's a classic criticism of Keynesian economics illustrated through a story. If someone throws a rock through a store window, everyone in town should rej...

Re: Kenneth Melson, acting ATF chief, steps down
This is not good news. $20 says Obama uses this opportunity to push Andrew Traver. He'll argue that Traver is a strong, effective, leader and that's what the ATF needs.

First Time Flying With Handgun (Long read)
A few weeks ago, I flew to Seattle from Austin on vacation. Since this was a vacation with no real time constraints, and I was flying from one gun friendly state to another, I figured I'd try taking my carry handgun, a Sig P220 Compact. Weeks before, I read a bunch of sites including this one, on wh...
