Re: Walmart has fallen!
I came here to to see the reaction to this news. In fact, it made me aware there's no popcorn-eating smiley. I think this is a pretty big move in terms of marketing, but I think the private or non-publicly traded market will pick up the slack on .223/5.56 rounds. I get a lot of people want to open c...

Re: How Do You Get Rid of Old Ammo?
If it's not oxidized or corroded, shoot it. If it is, perhaps you can try to run it through a vibratory cleaner or hit it with some lanolin and isopropanol to clean it up, then shoot it. If you're unsure about it, I'll just take it off your hands and ensure it's properly disposed

FTAGH: Hamilton VR-20 Drafting Table
I need to get rid of this behemoth to make room for a home gym. These things were extremely pricey back in the day before drafting was done on computers. The height is electronically adjustable, it's heavy (~100 pounds) and large (54"x40" sounds about right). The picture is from google, th...

GSD or Belgian Malinois Breeders?
I'm thinking of getting a GSD of BM in a year of so. I understand the commitment required for the breeds. I've thought this out for a few years and I think I will be ready to commit to one by spring next year. I thought I'd check here for personal experiences with their GSD, BM and a reference for a...

Re: Dallas homeowner in shootout with attempted armed robbers
Let me also add one more to the previous poster's excellent description of the NVR and cameras. When deciding on the location of the NVR, keep in mind that the unit is a bit noisy. So I would avoid putting it in your bedroom or some other location where you want total silence. We have our in our of...

Re: Dallas homeowner in shootout with attempted armed robbers
some basic question about security surveillance systems What kind of wiring requirements? - Power supply for camera? - Cable from camera to recorder? What kind of recorder? - A PC with a very large hard drive? - Something else? Where do you put the recorder? - In the home office - Under the TV with...

Re: Dallas homeowner in shootout with attempted armed robbers
If someone can spend a grand on gun or two they can spend a grand on a surveillance system.

If it will be used in the way you're describing i wouldn't worry about the finish so long as it doesn't become shiny with wear.

Re: WTB 25-06 dies & components
You may not be aware of this, but the 25-06 is based off of the 30-06 as is the .270. You can pick up either the 30-06 or .270 brass from the range, trim it to length and run if through a full length sizing die. It will neck the case from .30 or .27 cal to .25 cal. I've never bought 25-06 brass. You...

Re: Waiting for Campus Carry...
So what does a dorm resident do for storage?? From article on Fox News website For example, at the University of Texas at Austin, teachers will be allowed to declare their offices as gun-free zones, but most will post signs announcing it. Dorm residents can have guns in common areas, such as dining...

Good morning every one! I'm headed to school today to work out. Unfortunately the Maverick Activities Center at UTA is posted 30.06 but I'll still make sure to peruse the permitted areas in a moment of appreciation. Here's the Exclusionary Areas Map http://www.uta.edu/news/info/campus-carry/map.php

Waiting for Campus Carry...
It's not like waiting for Christmas, it's more like waiting for a breath of fresh air. In the world of academia liberal and anti-second amendment sentiment is ubiquitous. Faculty and University officials tout as though allowing LTC holders to defend themselves to, fro and upon campus grounds is irra...
