Re: Completed the Class today
This was true for me! In fact, the first time I had ever shot any firearm was in my CHL class. I think I got 275 with a G17 or G19. It FTF twice but that was my fault, I had never shot before and didn't have a proper grip. Two years later, I'm building AR's and reloading. God, I love Texas.punkndisorderly wrote:Glad to hear it went well.
The number of stoppages people have amazed me during the classes I took personally or observed. After teaching some myself, it ceased to amaze me. A high percentage of students fall into one of two categories:
-they bring a new gun that's never been shot and never been cleaned. Straight from the FFL to the class
-they have shot it, and have cleaned it, but it was so long ago any lubricant has long since evaporated
I have my suspicions a high percentage also have no idea how to clean and/or lube them to begin with.
Even at the CHL Instructor class there were several people with gun issues.
