Re: Kershaw Knives at Woot.com

(11) "Switchblade knife" means any knife that has a blade that folds, closes, or retracts into the handle or sheath and that opens automatically by pressure applied to a button or other device located on the handle or opens or releases a blade from the handle or sheath by the force of gravity or by the application of centrifugal force. The term does not include a knife that has a spring, detent, or other mechanism designed to create a bias toward closure and that requires exertion applied to the blade by hand, wrist, or arm to overcome the bias toward closure and open the knife.
The way I've read:
(a) there is no button on the handle to release the blade.
(b) there is a bias toward closure that is overcome once you move the blade out about 5 degrees and the force used to overcome the bias is applied to the blade.

Re: Kershaw Knives at Woot.com

The clip can be put on either side at the bottom of the handle ( you can see the two holes at the base which are not on the rest of them, this is where you'd unscrew the clip and move it there.)

Re: Kershaw Knives at Woot.com

I like the drone better than the burst. It has a more traditional pocket clip (blade down in pocket). The burst clip is reversible and sits at the bottom of the handle(away from the hinge). The drone is also about 1/2" shorter when extended.

Re: Kershaw Knives at Woot.com

Got mine in yesterday... look and feel like Kershaws should. I think the assisted opening on this knife is the simplest and easiest to use out of all the other one's I've had. Just push the nub on the back and the spring shoots it out.

Re: Kershaw Knives at Woot.com

I think they are Chinese or Jap, I'm interested to see how the assisted open works on this as I don't see one of those safety switches which most assisted openers have.
