Re: open carry bill filed
I agree with point 1. It does make 30.06 apply to both concealed and open carry. That's a big negative. From my reading of the bill it appears he retained the 1" contrasting letters and both languages, however, it removes the exact wording and instead says language indicating that..... Really ...

Re: Sen. Birdwell files campus carry bill
Is there/will there be a House companion bill? Why bother with Straus calling the shots there? With an attitude like this, why even bother even worrying about trying to pass anything at all? :banghead: No need to be a negative nelly. Strauss doesn't call all the shots. We got the parking lot bill l...

Re: If I do it it's a threat, but if a LEO does it it's not?
Bad for police to do it too. The officers I know like what they call the "interrogation stance". Some do it different ways, but most put one hand on top of hte other both hands open, around the belly button area or belt buckle. Nothing tucked in nothing clinched just resting lightly, lets ...

Re: Running Serial Numbers of weapons of CHL holders.
But what Law gives them the AUTHORITY to run serial numbers of CHL holder's guns? The Fourth Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America, as interpreted by the Supreme Court of the United States. Well, more specifically, our principals of anything not forbidden is legal. I thought...

Re: Home School ?????
Home schooling a child does not make the home a school. Actually it does. In Leeper v. Arlington the ruling said (and I am paraphrasing) "That home schools are private schools and as such are not regulated by the State of Texas." But that doesn't make a house school premises. Home schoole...

Re: Definition of a Texas LEO's "lawful commands"?
Good question. Apparently in Texas there is no such law. According to the link below, some cities have a local ordinance for this crime. http://gritsforbreakfast.blogspot.com/2007/07/prosecutors-justify-awful-unlawful.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; This guy convicted ...

Done business with both, both are straight up honest dealers. I think those are the right numbers, might want to look them up online before calling.

Re: Keene, TX LEO's chestcam documents troublesome drama que
The key word here to me is de-escalation. The officer did nothing whatsoever to de-escalate the situation. A simple, "Ma'am, I understand your physical problem and I am going to make this as quick as possible so we can get you on your way" may have moved things right along. Instead the of...

I dont get on the interstate much but I was on a stretch where it's 75 now just the other day. Only thing I saw was most people still driving about 70. Truck sucks too much gas at 65-70 now, dont need to make it worse. But I like having the option. Difference between fast and slow don't matter if pe...

To get prosecuted by the feds you pretty much have to be dealing crack to kids while carrying. yeah, illegal, but nobody cares.RPB wrote:If you do not have a Texas CHL for Texas school zones, federal law makes it illegal

Like somebody said its been illegal since reconstruction, just wasn't enforced against the "right people".
When the law started treating everbody the same and good white Christian folks got scared of being arrested for carrying, we finally got a chl law.

Re: Minn. Police Beat Man For Gun, Despite Permit
The incident has racial overtones as the CHL holder is Black and the police appeared to be Caucasian. wow... I see one black face in the bunch of cops. It's a pretty white state, nothing unusual about that. Dont' know if they picked him out because he's black, but they sure did him wrong if...
