Just for what it's worth, I have a Texas CHL and frequently travel into Utah and the northwestern part of the country. As you know, I cannot carry in Washington state with my Texas CHL. So, I decided to add a Utah CHL to my wallet.

When I was in Albuquerque recently, I contacted an instructor there and asked about getting the Utah class done. He, much to his credit, was not willing to allow me to attend his class until I mentioned that I already held a Texas CHL. So, I spent about 4 hours with him and finished the requirements. And no, he did not mention anything about Texas law, although he did give me an interesting booklet outlining the New Mexico laws.
